Kotare

Kotare Models is a New Zealand-based manufacturer of premium 1/32 scale plastic aircraft kits. The brand was founded by members of the former Wingnut Wings team, the acclaimed New Zealand company that produced some of the finest large-scale World War I aircraft kits ever made before closing in 2020. Named after the Kotare, a small native New Zealand bird, the company carries forward the same commitment to engineering excellence, historical accuracy and exceptional mould quality that defined Wingnut Wings.

Kotare launched with a series of 1/32 scale Supermarine Spitfire variants, including the Mk.Ia (Mid), Mk.Va, Mk.I (Early) and the photo-reconnaissance PR Type A. The range has since expanded to include the Messerschmitt Bf 109K-4. Each kit features high-quality injection-moulded plastic parts with crisp detail, excellent fit and multiple marking options. The kits include alternative parts for different sub-variants, optional pilot seats with and without harnesses, and carefully researched decal sheets. Kotare kits are designed for experienced modellers who want museum-quality results and are willing to invest in a premium build.

At Wonderland Models, we stock the Kotare Models range. Shop securely online for express shipping or visit our in-store experts in Edinburgh for personalised advice.
