The F-35®B LIGHTNING II® is a single-seat, multi-role fighter designed by Lockheed Martin. Italy was one of the European countries that have F-35B multi-role fighters, i.e. the short take-off and vertical landing version. The first F-35B machines were delivered to Italy in 2018. Currently, these fighters serve in both the Italian Navy (Marina Militare) and the Italian Air Force (Aeronautica Militare).
