The Mosquito, a British military aircraft flown during World War II, is one of the most well-known aircraft of the war. When it entered service, its lightweight wooden construction and powerful engine helped it outpace the best of German fighter aircraft. The Mosquito was used in a wide range of roles; including photo-reconnaissance, fighter-bomber and anti-submarine roles.
