The Revell 1/72 Berlin Airlift 75th Anniversary Gift Set from our 1/72 scale aircraft model kits range accurately recreates the real-life American transport aircraft used to bring supplies to Berlin at the end of World War II.In June 1948, the Soviet military administration began blockading West Berlin. Shortly afterwards, transport flights were made to supply the approximately 2.2 million citizens. Most of the time the C-54s were used, which the grateful population called Rosinenbomber. By the end of the blockade in 1949, around 2.1 million tonnes of supplies had been flown in.
