The Artesania Latina 1/41 Virginia American Schooner wooden ship model accurately recreates the real life schooner built in 1819.
At the start of the 19th century, the United States began to build fore-and-aft rigged sailing ships called schooners, offering great maneuverability and elegance. The Virgina was designed in 1819 and launched that same year. Equipped with a central swivel mounted carronade and lighty armed but also capable of high speeds, the Virginia was used for pursuit and intercepting tasks as a coast guard boat.
This kit features double plank on bulkhead construction and laser cut wooden parts for accuracy. The blocks and deadeyes are made of yellow boxwood. Eyelets, bracers, belaying pins, and cabin door hinges are brass. Sails are included in this kit. Comes complete with detailed plans and instructions.
