More About the Parkzone Spitfire
Folklore calls it the fighter that saved a nation during the Battle of Britain, and pilots all over the world remember the Spitfire Mk IIB as the most effective and famous aircraft of WWII. The renowned fighter flew with various air forces, including the United States Air Force, during WWII and for years after.
Now you can experience the thrill of flying the legendary Spitfire on a smaller scale with this fully aerobatic Charge and Fly reproduction from ParkZone. And getting it airborne is about as simple as it gets. Just attach the wing and tail, connect the battery to the charger and in as little as 40 minutes, you will be flying.
Once in the air, you can choose between two flight modes A or B with just the flip of a transmitter switch. Mode A limits the amount of control surface travel for transitioning pilots so manoeuvres are smooth and manageable.
Mode B grants an experienced pilot maximum control surface movement for high-energy warbird manoeuvres like loops, victory rolls, Cuban 8's and more. The ZX10 radio system and ESC and two 3 wire servos can be removed and used in other speed 370 or 400 class electric aircraft. That includes V tails and delta wings, thanks to optional servo reversing and T tail V tail options. You can also adjust the speed control's auto-cut-off to work with 3 cell Li Po battery packs.
And, with minor modification, you can engage in exciting aerial combat using the X Port adapter that's included. As with every ParkZone product, the Spitfire comes equipped with everything necessary to get you in the air quickly and easily, including a fully proportional 3 channel FM radio system, batteries for the transmitter, a rechargeable Ni MH battery pack, and a variable rate DC peak charger.
Charge and Fly convenience, outstanding flight performance and exciting scale realism, with the Spitfire Mk IIB RTF, you get it all.

Great 1st warbird
I havent got much flying exerience, the only other plane ive flown is the mini super cub with no ailerons.
I put together the wing and setup the ailerons and elevators - they were no where near right out of the box but its easy to setup, just make sure everythings level with the trim set to neutral.
Apart from breaking a prop on my first landing as the prop stopped vertically, first few flights were relatively uneventful, although its very suprising how fast and just how much space you need to fly it. The movement is much better with the ailerons and i quickly switched to b mode, for full movement. It completely tranforms the plane - victory rolls and loops are possible on the a setting, but its so much easier and more responsive on b mode. I think the a setting is probably quite close to scale performance.
Unfortunatley, it is easy to loose track of which is the top or bottom when its a bright day and i crashed it heavily snapping the wing in half. Its all repirable, just needs a new wing and front cowl and bulkhead. I'll be putting d-day stripes on the top of the wings next time so i can easily keep track of it!
If you havent flown before, buy something else first that has plenty of lift, if youve flown before you should be ok with this - but its quite fast for a beginner!
