Breyer in affiliation with Michael Morpurgo, have made the model of "Joey," the lead horse character in his popular book, War Horse.

Published in 1982, the book tells the story of World War I through the eyes of Joey, a brave and beautiful horse. Joey is owned by a poor village farmer and is much loved by the farmer's son, Albert.

Joey is sold to the cavalry when the war breaks out, and a heartbroken Albert goes in search of his beloved horse. Joey and Albert are reunited, but not before they experience both the horror of war and heartwarming acts of kindness from the people they meet along their way home.

This much-loved children's book became a theatrical success of War Horse in London and New York, and attracted the attention of director Steven Spielberg who is bringing the live action film War Horse to the screen in December 2011.
