The Revell 1/9 Yamaha YZR-M1 plastic bike model accurately recreates the real life motorcycle. This plastic bike kit requires paint and glue to complete.
For Yamaha the 2003 motor cycle GP did not turn out as well as expected. They therefore reworked both the water-cooled four-cylinder in-line four-stroke engine and the chassis. The 345 km/h Yamaha ultimately received better traction and improved handling. The centre of gravity of the 240 bhp M1 was also lowered. Before the season started Yamaha had another surprise in store when they engaged as rider the several times world champion Valentino Rossi, who had run away with three world championship titles in succession since 2001. Rossi on the M1 (acceleration from 0 to 200 km/h in 6 seconds and from 0 to 300 in 12.6 seconds) immediately amazed the professional racing world and the fans. The Yamaha ran like clockwork in the 2004 season, which came as a great shock to the competition. It was therefore no surprise that the Yamaha dominated the 2004 season. The young Italian easily won 9 out of 16 races. By the end of the year Rossi on the Yamaha had gained 304 points in the team standings and again secured the motor cycling GP world championship title.
