1/72 Messerschmitt Me 263-1 - 72118

The Special Hobby 1/72 Messerschmitt Me 263-1 plastic aircraft model accurately recreates the real life plane. This plastic aircraft kit requires paint and glue to complete.

Messerschmitt Me 263-1 "German Rocke Fighter". German efforts to stop the Allied bombing of Germany led the Luftwaffe to use some very unorthodox combat aircraft. One of these was the famous rocket fighter~ the Me 163 Komet. Operational use revealed many functional problems and this led to the design of a more advanced aircraft. Its development was shared between the Messerschmitt and Junkers companies.

The development of this aircraft later designated as the Me 263 was finalized at Messerschmitt. Only three prototypes were built. Some sources claim that one of the prototypes broke the 1000 km/h speed barrier.

The kit consists of one sprue with grey plastic parts clear parts (canopy and bullet-proof glass) resin and photo-etched parts. Decals are for the first prototype.
