The Avro Vulcan was a British delta wing subsonic bomber, operated by the Royal Air Force from 1953 until 1984. The Vulcan was part of the RAF's V bomber force, which fulfilled the role of nuclear deterrence against the Soviet Union during the Cold War. It was used in the conventional bombing role during the Falklands conflict with Argentina.
The Vulcan bomber was used by the RAF in an extraordinary 8,000 mile round trip to attack and disable Port Stanley airfield whilst it was in the hands of Argentinean forces. The 1/72 scale kit in this gift set enables you to create a model with dimensions of 446 x 469mm.
