The Dragon 1/35 Sd.Kfz 234/3 Schwerer Panzerspahwagenis a plastic model kit in the Dragon WW2 Military Plastic Models range
The newest 1/35 scale kit completes Dragons highly successful quartet of Sd.Kfz. 234 variants. This final version is the Sd.Kfz. 234/3, which features a 7.5cm KwK 51 L/24 gun mounted atop a basic Sd.Kfz. 234 hull. A total of 88 of these vehicles were produced between June and December 1944, before it was succeeded by the Sd.Kfz. 234/4 with its longer-barreled 7.5cm PaK 40 L/46 antitank gun. This vehicle was issued to German reconnaissance units. This model kit shares the extremely high quality and accuracy of its predecessors, though it also features a host of new components befitting the 234/3 version. The 7.5cm KwK 51 L/24 gun with full detail is a completely new tooling, with the armored shield made to the thinnest possible dimensions subject to the limitations of injection molding.
All features, whether interior or exterior, are carefully reproduced. This is particularly welcome considering the open-topped nature of this vehicle with a whole host of interior detail visible to viewers. There is also a brand new set of tires included as a bonus, these being assembled in slices so as to ensure tire tread detail is fully reproduced. With this kit from Dragon, modelers will be pleased to be able to equip their reconnaissance companies with the complete series of Sd.Kfz. 234 vehicles!
