1/24 BMW Williams FW23 20 7222 BMW Williams started the 2001 season with high hopes resting on them. After the surprise 3rd place in the previous year, the Anglo-German team planned to defendand improve on this position. In addition to the completely new, 820 bhp V-10 engine, the two drivers were more than equal to the task. The German driver, already in his third year with Williams, contributed three Grand Prix wins, including Hockenheim, to the remarkable result, with a total of 49 points. Juan Pablo Montoya, the winner in Monza, also made an impressive debut in Formula 1 with his risk- taking style. The MBW-Williams team confidently held third place with 80 points overall.
