The
Bravo Delta Models Fokker DR.1 Red Baron in 1/18 scale is another example from this superb
wooden aircraft model collection.
Fokker DR1 1917 Red Baron DR1 425/17 Baron Manfred Von Richthofen gained his nickname from the red painted Fokker DR1 triplane, in which he lost his life on 21st April, 1918, shot down by a Sopwith Camel from 209 Squadron RAF. Richthofen shot down more aircraft than any other pilot during World War 1, 80 in all. Markings - old style icon cross with white outline of Balkankreuz.
Bravo Delta Models are exceptional museum quality wooden aircraft models and are faithfully reproduced in kiln dried Mahogany. Each is carved, joined and sanded by hand. The deep, rich finish that distinguishes these models from others is created by the application of up to 35 coats of enamel. The artist then hand paints all of the details onto each model. The final product is a beautiful authentic wooden aircraft which is fully built and finished and packed in a strong shipping carton. Every model has its own desk stand. All the propellers are made of wood and will rotate. Some of the jets have movable swing wings, also made of wood.
