Tamiya has had a long history of releasing RC models of real-life World Rally Championship cars, and this year sees the announcement of the new Subaru Impreza WRC Monte Carlo '07 on the reliable TT-01 chassis. The latest iteration of Subaru's Impreza WRC rally car is outwardly not too different than the 2006 model. The main improvements lie underneath the hood, with improved suspension geometry, a new turbo/intercooler, better weight distribution, and new differential settings for greater traction. There is also a new front bumper design to go along with the new intercooler. All of these enhancements aim to make the Impreza WRC 2007 a more responsive race car, and drivers Chris Atkinson and Peter Solberg have already attained positive results with 4th and 6th place finished respectively at Round 1 Monte Carlo.
The Tamiya Subaru Impreza '07 XB comes ready-to-run with a 4WD shaft driven bathtub TT-01 chassis with coil spring damped, 4-wheel independent double wishbone suspension and sealed front and rear differential gearbox. New toolings used to create the lightweight polycarbonate body, which comes pre-painted with markings pre-applied. Eye-catching gold 10-spoke wheels are also included. This set includes ESC (TEU-101 BK), type 540 motor, and Expec R/C System. Also included are LEDs for head and tail lights that turn on automatically when the car is switched on. Add the TLU-02 Light Control Unit (ITEM 53937) for greater control of light operations. Like many Tamiya R/C cars a wide variety of tune-up parts are separately available to customize your machine.
